Our process

All of our soaps are cold saponified. Well, what does that mean?

Cold saponification uses the heat generated from the combination of the fatty acids (acid) in the melted oils and fats with sodium hydroxide (base), which will be completely transformed by the addition of natural oils  to facilitate the saponification process. This process usually takes 18–24 h to complete, and a further 4 - 6 weeks to cure the finished soaps. Overgreasing with butters or oils allows the soap not to be caustic and therefore not to be dangerous for your skin.

In summary, by mixing fatty substances (oils, butters, etc.) with an alkaline base (sodium hydroxide) we obtain an alkaline salt with glycerin inside, which is why all soaps are soluble. in water (salt) and rehydrates the skin (glycerin). This process is exactly like common salt (which we eat everyday).

This process is done “cold” because the oils are not heated to more than 40 to 50 ° C which allows them to retain all their properties and characteristics which differs from the “cauldron” process or a release of glycerol. is carried out with a salted soda solution with cooking at

100 ° C or even 120 ° C.

We prefer the cold process because it uses less energy and has a better carbon balance in order to preserve nature.

This process requires an additional step: the drying cure.

Indeed, cold saponified soaps must dry naturally between 4 and 6 weeks so that the traces of soda are transformed into glycerin and also for the soap to become hard. Soap is a bit like good wine, the more it dries naturally (without a dryer) the more it improves.

All our soaps are superfatted (at a minimum of 7%) to give you a soft and smooth touch and a feeling of hydration after washing. Indeed, this superfatting allows you to preserve the hydrolipidic film of your skin, which protects you dry and chapped skin and also from sunburn, bacteria, viruses ... etc.

Once your skin is hydrated, it will be less prone to inflammatory skin diseases such as eczema or psoriasis.

Soothing, it calms itching and irritation. This oil also has inflammatory properties and is very good against eczema. This vegetable oil restores the hydrolipidic film thanks to the high percentage of Mono-Unsaturated Fatty Acid (MUFA) which allows it to protect the skin by preventing microbial attacks and preserve the elasticity of the skin. Containing beta-carotene, vitamin A and E, it is also a good antioxidant.

Avocado oil

Avocado oil is nourishing and brings suppleness and elasticity to the skin which allows it to act on stretch marks. These properties make it an excellent ingredient for cosmetics intended for dry skin and preserves the hydrolipidic film of the skin. It repairs and protects dull or damaged dry hair.
